No Governance, Just Pressure: US Eyes Venezuela Oil Blockade

The United States has no intention of governing Venezuela, but will continue to exert pressure for political change through an existing oil blockade. This clarification comes after recent remarks suggesting potential US intervention. Senator Marco Rubio emphasized the strategy aims to limit the Maduro regime’s revenue streams, effectively hindering its ability to maintain power.
Rubio also issued warnings to China, Russia, and Iran regarding continued support for the Venezuelan government, suggesting their involvement prolongs the country’s instability. The US approach centers on economic sanctions and diplomatic efforts, rather than direct military or administrative control.
The future remains uncertain for Venezuelans as the Trump administration’s policies unfold, with the oil blockade serving as a key component of the US strategy. Maduro is currently scheduled to appear in a New York court, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing situation.
