The Hurriyat Conference, a coalition of separatist groups advocating for the region’s self-determination, has faced significant restrictions in recent years.

Simultaneously, the Mirwaiz Foundation launched its ‘Pillars of Faith’ calendar for 2026 at Srinagar’s Jama Masjid, an event highlighting the organization’s continued religious and social work. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has publicly supported the Mirwaiz’s decision to remove the title, though the reasons for their support remain largely unstated.
